MENTONE - Everett G. Young, 79, of 5213 W. CR 100S, Warsaw, died at 2:45 p.m. Dec. 10, 2007, in his residence.

He was born May 8, 1928, in Kosciusko County, to Gordon and Edith Vandermark Young. On Nov. 29, 1948, in Atwood, he married Betty J. Kindig, who died Aug. 9, 2003.

He retired from Bendix Corp. in 1983, after 32 years of service. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Warsaw; Eagles Lodge, Syracuse; and the Warsaw Bowlers Hall of Fame, having bowled in the ABC tournaments all over the country.

Surviving are two daughters, Diann (and spouse Robert) Huffman and Sandra (and spouse Roy) Wentz, both of Warsaw; a son, Dennis (and spouse Tracy) Young, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mary Pike, Rochester; Margaret Yeater, Michigan; and Opal Epler and Francis Ervin, both of Warsaw; and a brother, Charles (and spouse Dorothy) Young, Elkhart. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with the Rev. Steve Austin officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
