SYRACUSE - Everett D. Williams, 71, of Leesburg, died at 11:05 p.m. March 22, 2008, in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Anderson, to Herbert F. and Bessie Trueblood Williams. On Dec. 17, 2002, he married Brenda Curts, who survives. He was formerly married to Kiyoko Ise, who survives.

Moving to Leesburg (Grassy Creek) from Anderson 18 years ago, he was a U.S. Army veteran, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. He worked in the paint processing department at Guide Corp., Anderson, retiring in 1990. He was a lifetime member of Alexandria Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster, for 17 years.

Also surviving are two daughters, Wanda Nevins, Indianapolis, and Teresa Lewis, Warren; five sons: Everett D. Williams Jr. and Mark F. Williams, both of Anderson; Curt Greene and Daniel Ferguson, both of Dunkirk; and Jason Ferguson, Larwill; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Stepp, Anderson. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Cemetery Chapel with military honors by members of North Webster American Legion.

Calling is from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the cemetery chapel.
