BOURBON – Evelyn L. Fribley, 81, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:19 a.m. Jan. 28, 2012, in her residence, in the care of her family.

She was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Etna Green, to Estel and Doris Creighbaum Huffman. On June 13, 1948, she married Carl E. “Sandy” Fribley, who died March 29, 1990.

A resident of the Etna Green area most of her life, she was a graduate of Etna Green High School in 1948 and retired in 1990 from United Telephone Co. after 21 years of service. She was first a telephone operator then a supervisor and moved into the alarm center. She was a faithful member of Etna Green United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters: Cynthia (and spouse Michael) O’Dowd, Indianapolis; Christina (and spouse Randall) Minnicus, Broomfield, Colo.; and Cathy (and spouse Kenneth) Foltz, Milford; two sons, Gary (and spouse Linda) Fribley, Atwood, and Neil (and spouse Kim) Fribley, Schererville; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Fribley; a granddaughter, Chasidy Foltz; a grandson, Lance Corporal David Fribley; a sister, Miriam Long; and a brother, Glenn Huffman.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
