Evelyn E. Pittenger, 91, died at 6:47 p.m. April 21, 2011, in Mason Health & Rehab, Warsaw.
She was born Aug. 25, 1919, in Sidney, to Charles V. and Nellie Bruberk Grisso. On Dec. 10, 1982, she married Carl R. Pittenger, who died July 13, 1995.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was a waitress at Big Western Restaurant, Pierceton, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society and the Southern Poetry Association.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth E. (and spouse Caroline) Fawley, Pierceton; a daughter, Joy (and spouse Patrick) Kelley, Fort Wayne; a stepson, Robert (and spouse Cheryl) Pittenger, Warsaw; a sister, Roxie Stahl, North Manchester; five half sisters: Mary Lu (and spouse Robert) Pulley and Charlene (and spouse Gerald) Gaylourd, all of Wabash; Sally Williams, Abilene, Texas; Donna (and spouse Richard) Logan, Eugene, Ore.; and Annabell (and spouse Medford) Pettit, Deming, N.M.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three half sisters, LaVonne Guthrie, Bonnie Hoge and infant half sister; two brothers, Warren “Pete”  and Bob Grisso; and a stepson, Richard Pittenger.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Chris Mahan officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
