He was born June 4, 1936, in Salyersville, Ky., to Smith and Goldie Ramey Jackson. On July 10, 1984, in Elko, Nev., he married Doris Hall, who died Nov. 2, 2012.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Conrail Railroad Company for 42 years. He attended Wabash Christian Heritage Church.
Surviving are three stepdaughters: Debra Ann Rand and Nancy (and spouse Marvin) Yeakle, all of Marion; Brenda Sue Regnault, Huntington; three brothers: Junior (and spouse Thelma) Jackson, Twin Lakes; Kelly (and spouse Lilly) Jackson, Wabash; Roy Jackson, South Whitley; a sister, Carma Jean Barton, Fort Wayne; seven step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
