Eugene M. Marvel, 91, died at 1:45 a.m. March 13, 2015, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw. He was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Warsaw, to Everett and Edna A. Rosbrugh Marvel. On Feb. 1, 1947, in Alexander, Ind., he married Edith Edington, who survives in Leesburg. He entered the U.S. Army on March 27, 1943, serving in World War II. He was honorably discharged Jan. 7, 1946, through Camp Atterbury. He lived most of his life in Leesburg. He worked maintenance for GTI Corp, Dytronics Division for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He also was an auto mechanic He loved working on cars, cutting wood and was jack of all trades. Also surviving are three daughters: Joyce (and spouse Jim) Garman, Leesburg; Judy Nichols and Janet Fifer, both of Warsaw; six grandchildren: Julie (and spouse Scott) Young, Justin Garman, Jason Nichols, all of Warsaw; Carmen (and spouse Bob) Ferguson, Troy (and spouse Nichole) Fifer, Cara (and spouse Rickie) See, all of Pierceton; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters: Emogene (and spouse Vernon) Garman, Elkhart; Catherine (and spouse Robert) Stillson, Fort Myers, Fla.; Gladys Smith, Peru; Ellen Plotner, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dean Marvel, who died Aug. 24, 1978, and Joe Marvel, who died March 20, 2012; and a sister, Marietta Smith, who died Nov. 9, 2004. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E.
