NORTH MANCHESTER - Eugene Laytart, 66, of Mentone, died at 2 p.m. Aug. 2, 2008, in his son's residence in rural Warsaw.

He was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Richmond, to Alvin and Edith Mann Laytart. He married Edith Meyers, who died in 2002.

He retired from Par-Kan Co., Silver Lake, and was a U.S. National Guard veteran.

Surviving are a son, Eugene (and spouse Miriam) Laytart, Warsaw; four daughters: Vicki (and spouse Larry) Dills, Akron; Cherrie (and spouse Gary) Gray, Richmond; Alice Dills, Franklin, N.C.; and Eugenia (and spouse Brian) Chasse, Northwood, N.H.; his mother, Edith Laytart, Fountain City; two brothers, Sonny Laytart, Columbus, Ohio, and David Laytart, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Betty (and spouse Doug) Ashenfelter, Fountain City, and Ann Kelly, Richmond; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Water of Life Church, Silver Lake, with Jr. Arnett officiating.

Calling is one hour prior to and one hour following the service Saturday at the church.
