Esther Louise Lucas, of 900 Provident Drive, Warsaw, and formerly of 8445 E. Backwater Road, North Webster, passed away at 11:24 p.m. Aug. 27, 2011, in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw.

She was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Kosciusko County, to Hiram and Nellie Lloyd Hite. On July 8, 1950, she married James “Jim” Wilson Lucas, who died Nov. 24, 2010.

She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and a longtime member of Harrison Center Church, Etna Green. She worked as a seamstress and retired after 40 years at Jomac Products, Warsaw.

She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren: Edson (and spouse Jolene) Holloway, Yelm, Wash.; Cheryl (and spouse Joel) Crist, Peru; Donna (and spouse David) Shafer, Logansport; Teresa (and spouse Mike) Tomlinson, Cortland, Ohio; Jeanene (and spouse Brian) Walls, North Webster; and James Robert (and spouse Jodi) Grindle, Warsaw; 17 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents and two children,  Phyllis Grindle Holloway and Robert Grindle.

A private graveside service will be Tuesday in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher.
