Enjoy The Ride, Lady Vikings

Not that I know anyone like that personally or anything. (If this were a text, this is where I’d say LOL)
Seriously, Lady Vikings I have a little bit of advice for you. I mean besides cashing in on the obvious endorsement deals for products that help people with heart issues, asthma and/or incontinence.
Enjoy this time of your lives. Take the time to really savor this. Make mental notes that one day, sooner than you think, will be vivid memories.
And, if you’re so inclined, hug a lot of people close to you.
You see, not everyone earns a chance to play in a semistate game. No female basketball player from your school ever has, and it wasn’t from lack of effort or dedication. Sweat has been poured and blood spilled in an effort to get to your level, and yet you’re the first.
Look around yourselves this week. Have a blast at Thursday’s pep rally. Enjoy the attention at media day. Feel the joy that comes from selling 750 tickets to a game in an hour, and then selling out the second allotment.
It’s possible you’ll never see this many smiling faces around you again. People will act as if you have something mysteriously magic about you, and some will try and take some of that for themselves, whether by specific intent or not.
There will be very little outside of your home that’s “normal” this week. My guess is the people in your home have an extra bounce in their step, too. Notice that. Embrace that.
Enjoy this small but intense section of your lives with the people closest to you. It won’t be until you’re older that you will fully appreciate what they are feeling for you. I know you’ve demonstrated gratitude time and again for the sacrifices others have made for you to be at this point, but it’s the kind of thing that never gets old.
Your team’s trademark, the ability to remain calm under intense pressure, will serve you well long after 2015. It’s possible, even likely, you’ll not ever work with people as passionately committed, as sold out, to a cause as you are with your team.
Why is this? Why don’t people feel that passion in their lives? That’s a long, involved subject, but in short if it were easy, everybody would do it.
Above all, this is a mountain top experience. Enjoy the view. And look all around.
Do you know what you’ll see and feel from the top of your mountain?
You’ll see more mountains to climb, and feel the confidence to know, with absolute certainty, you can climb them.[[In-content Ad]]
