NORTH WEBSTER – Emmagene “Gene” Thorn, 92, of Warsaw, died at 2:05 a.m. Nov. 11, 2011, in her residence.

She was born April 5, 1919, in Warsaw, to Arthur E. and Alge A. Houston Thorn.

She graduated in 1937 from North Webster High School. She lived in Fort Wayne for many years before returning the North Webster area. She retired in 1993 from Magnavox Corp., Fort Wayne,  after 30 years as an office administrator. She also was a waitress in various restaurants in Fort Wayne. She formerly attended Morris Chapel United Methodist Church, Warsaw.

Also surviving are a son, David Jerome (and spouse Karen) Batten, Pilot Mountain, N.C.; and her life companion, Robert Roberts, Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with the Rev. Holly White officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery, Mock Addition.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
