She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Miami County, to Oliver Fayett and Fara Butterbaugh DeHaven. On Nov. 21, 1940, she married William L. Dawalt, who survives.
She was a homemaker and a dairy farmer, retiring to Lake Manitou in 1979. She was a Gilead High School graduate and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women of the church. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She moved to Rochester in 2005.
Also surviving are a son, David (and spouse Renee) Dawalt, Twelve Mile; two daughters, Grace (and spouse Kenny) Richardson, Macy, and Patty (and spouse Chris) McGuire, Mexico, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Miami County, with the Revs. Bill Babb and George Hapner officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Macy.
Calling is from 2 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
