MILFORD – Elvina M. Knepper, 101, Milford, passed away July 22, 2014, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare.
She was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Cando, N.D., to Basil and Emma Hanson Drake. On Oct. 29, 1930, she married Wilbur Knepper, who preceded her in death July 24, 1986.
She graduated from Egeland High School in North Dakota. The family moved in 1935 to Milford, where she raised her family. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Milford Christian Church and was a “Rosie the Riveter,” working in a bomb factory at Kingsbury during World War II.
She is survived by a son, Beverly Knepper, Piney Flats, Tenn.; two daughters, Joye Mae (and spouse John) Stilwell; Piney Flats, and Sandra (and spouse Ron) Ganger, Syracuse; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Emery; a sister, Ruth; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mishler Funeral Home. Burial is in Milford Cemetery.
Calling is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
