NAPPANEE - Elmer M. Beachy, 89, of 9473 W. CR 1050N, Nappanee, died at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8, 2009, in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 14, 1920, in LaGrange, to Menno and Elizabeth Yoder Beachy. On Feb. 3, 1944, in LaGrange County, he married Alice Mae Miller, who survives.

He moved to Nappanee from LaGrange County in 1982. He was a retired farmer and formerly worked at Fan Coach, LaGrange, and Heckaman Homes, Nappanee. He was a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Also surviving are three daughters, Rosanna (and spouse John Henry) Borkholder, Nappanee, and Loretta (and spouse Noah) Herschberger and Rachel (and spouse Edward) Otto, all of Kokomo; 11 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Daniel (and spouse Ada) Beachy, Millersburg; Perry (and spouse Ruby) Beachy, Goshen; and Mahlon (and spouse Clara) Beachy, Millersburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, three sisters and two brothers.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ray Kemp residence, 9699 W. CR 1050N, with Home Ministry officiating. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.

Calling is after 4 p.m. today and all day Tuesday at the Lyle Borkholder residence, 9457 W. CR 1050N.
