By Staff Report-

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department has a new addition to its fleet of vehicles - one of a smaller size.

After hearing about the recent budget cuts to county departments, Elliott's Cars & Carts recently donated a golf cart to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.[[In-content Ad]]The sheriff's department previously had a golf cart that was used for the 24-hour security provided at the Kosciusko County 4-H fairgrounds and other security details. That golf cart stopped running last summer, and Tony and Cindy Elliott decided to step forward to help the local law enforcement.

"I grew up knowing Aaron Rovenstine and Rocky Goshert since we were all from Warsaw, and decided that I could give back to those who protect us daily that we often take for granted."

Sgt. Chad Hill was assigned the task of getting the golf cart painted and equipped and found that John Crouse of R&R Collision and Service Center of Pierceton wanted to donate the paint and labor.

Indiana Sheriff decals were also donated to finalize the project.

Sheriff Goshert said, "The sheriff's department is very appreciative of the new equipment and those that made it happen. It continues to show how our community is rooted. The golf cart will be a great asset to our security details due to the efficiency of the unit."
