Elizabeth "Liz" Yoder, 82, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Nappanee, died at 3:23 p.m. Sept. 29, 2008, at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers.

She was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Nappanee, to Joseph C. and Mary Yoder Hochstetler. On Aug. 5, 1950, she married Ernest Yoder, who died March 8, 1965.

She and her husband owned and operated the Double E Grocery Store, north of Nappanee, for many years. She was retired from the restaurant business in Florida. She was a member of Nappanee Church of the Brethren and Nappanee American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are three brothers: Sam Hochstetler, Nappanee; Levi (and spouse Sue) Hochstetler, Elkhart; Harvey (and spouse Elizabeth) Hochstetler, Sarasota, Fla.; and two sisters: Anna Mast, Nappanee; and Amanda Yoder, Sarasota. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Nappanee Church of the Brethren with Pastors Byrl and Janet Shaver officiating. Burial will be at Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to services Friday at Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
