Elizabeth L. “Betty” Perkins, 86, Warsaw, passed away at 5:35 p.m. May 25, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa. She was born April 26, 1929, in Chicago, to Beryl and Rose Haynes Bauer. On Aug. 22, 1970, she married LeRoy Perkins, who passed away Nov. 29, 1986. She had moved to Summit, Miss., in 2006 and had just recently moved back to the Elkhart area in 2013. She worked as an aide at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church, Summit, and Diamond Love Missionary Church, Cassopolis, Mich. She enjoyed puzzles, sewing, reading and socializing. Surviving are a son, Frank Hatch, Illinois; a daughter, Mary Montana, Illinois; seven grandchildren: Daniel and Kimmy Hatch, Dawn Howett, Diane Fitzpatrick, Denise Hinkins, Jennifer Newendykes and Diona Montana; three step-grandchildren: Trisha and Jame Kocsis and Suzanne Green; and many great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Daniel Hatch; and a sister, June Bauer Childress Frank. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
