SYRACUSE - Elgie A. Tatman, 84, of Syracuse, died at 12:10 a.m. Nov. 14, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.

She was born May 4, 1923, in Logansport, to John C. and Charlotte M. Berg Werich. In 1947, she married Clarence E. Tatman, who died in 1972.

She graduated from Logansport High School in 1941. She moved to Syracuse from Logansport in 1953. She was co-owner and operator of C.E. Tatman Accounting, Syracuse, from 1958 -72, and then served as clerk-treasurer for the town of Syracuse for 14 years, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Shepherd By The Lakes Lutheran Church, Syracuse, and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ligonier, for more than 20 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte (and spouse David) Jessie, Syracuse; two sons, Don (and spouse Sandy) Tatman, Cromwell, and Stephen (and spouse Dawne) Tatman, Berne; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and a brother .

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Russell Fuhrmann officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
