The election season is soon approaching. And I would like citizens to remember two words. Remember November. That phrase is apparently the new rallying cry for the so-called conservatives. A new rallying cry that seems to suggest that somehow the so-called conservatives were wronged because their economic, domestic and foreign policies were repudiated in the last presidential election. So now they ask America to Remember November and put the GOP back in power.

Ironically, while they tell you to Remember November they also want you to forget. They want you to forget what happened to America the last time the GOP was in power. Fortunately for America, that moment in time is so recent that voters cannot forget.

The GOP and the conservatives cry out "Remember November." Yes, remember that 9/11 happened on their watch. Remember the irresponsible tax cuts, passed by conservative President George W Bush, which increased our deficit. Remember the war in Afghanistan that was launched to capture Osama Bin Laden, who is still at large. Remember how that same administration then abandoned the war in Afghanistan, provided false intelligence to the American people, and then launched a war of choice in Iraq. And while we didn't have enough money to fight one war, the so-called fiscal conservatives were OK with fighting a second war we couldn't afford and then tried to keep the cost hidden from the people by keeping the costs of the two wars off the books. Now our brave soldiers are fighting in two theaters of combat, started by the GOP, where victory is un-attainable.

Remember November. Remember how the GOP stood by and watched their economic policies drive the economy into a ditch we are still trying to get out of. Remember that under a GOP administration the government regulators were allowed to cozy up with the industries they were supposed to regulate which resulted in relationships that allowed the BP gulf disaster to occur.

In November, remember how the GOP bailed out the banks and forgot the people. Remember that when America asked for healthcare reform, the GOP stood with the big insurance monopolies who deny coverage to their clients. Remember that when financial reform was being worked on, the GOP once again stood with the "too big to fail banks," claiming that a system that allowed the banks to get "too big to fail" and would lead to future bailouts was alright with them. Remember that the so-called family values party has their ranks filled with adulterous hypocrites who refuse aid to the unemployed and their families while they collect thousands of dollars in checks from campaign contributors. Remember that the GOP is now the hypocritical "do as I say not as I do" party.

So in November please remember that the last time the GOP was in power they left us with a huge deficit, an even larger debt, an economy in shambles, high unemployment, two costly unwinnable wars, banks that are too big to fail, unregulated industries who continue to poison our soil, water, and air, and a nation so divided that that we're unable to solve our problems because of the political paralysis that has resulted.

So, yes, please, Remember November.
