NAPPANEE - Eleanor M. Middleton, 79, of Laural's of Dekalb, Butler, died at 1:30 p.m. July 8, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born Oct. 6, 1928, in Nappanee, to William O. and Dorothy Mae Holderman Keifer. In 1973, she married Billy Ray Middleton, who survives.

Living most of her life in the Nappanee and Elkhart area, she attended Nappanee Schools and was a waitress at Ozzie's, Nappanee.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kim (and spouse Seth) Chizem, Golden, Colo., and Crystal Cook, Butler; four sons: Melvin Dean, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Frank (and spouse Lori) Dean, Arroyo Grande, Calif.; Joe Dean, Butler; Van Toupence, Golden, Colo.; a stepdaughter, Donna Middletown, Indianapolis; a stepson, Billy Middleton, Indiana; two brothers, Virgil (and spouse Marilyn) Keifer and William Keifer, all of Kalamazoo, Mich.; four sisters: Geraldine Zimmerman, Boonville; Willodene (and spouse Marvin) Schrock, Avon Park, Fla.; Loretta (and spouse Ray) Skelton, Syracuse; and Barbara (and spouse Chuck) Amdeo, Goshen; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a stepson, a stepdaughter, two brothers and a sister.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
