Eisenhower Lemonade Stand Raise Money For Schoolmate

Eisenhower Elementary students sold lemonade at recess this week to raise funds for a fourth-grader's cancer fund.

Second-grade students in Deb Wiley's class organized a lemonade stand during second recess to raise money for Austin McCleary's medical expenses. McCleary is currently fighting neuroblastoma for the third time. McCleary's fourth-grade class also assisted with the lemonade stand.

All the lemonade and supplies were donated. Any student at recess this past week could purchase a cup of lemonade for 30 cents a cup.

As of Thursday, the lemonade stand collected $701 plus an anonymous donation of $100. The students were still selling lemonade Friday.[[In-content Ad]]Wiley said her class did the lemonade stand last year after reading about a lemonade stand. This year, she said, she decided to include more students in the effort.
