She was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to Thurman and Tena Strausbaugh Niday. On April 20, 1947, in Fostoria, Ohio, she married Donald Burgher, who died Oct. 17, 1995.
She moved to Warsaw from Hillsdale, Mich., in 1963. She was a homemaker and a secretary/receptionist for United Telephone Co., Warsaw, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of First Church of Christ Science, Warsaw, and Order of the Eastern Star, Caro, Mich. She enjoyed travelling, playing bridge with the Ramada Ladies Bridge Group, reading with students at Jefferson Elementary School and spending time with her family. She was a very caring person and was loved by her friends, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda (and spouse Andy) Arnold, Warsaw; a son, Greg (and spouse Peg) Burgher, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Amy (and spouse Matt) Weaver, Greenwood; Julie (and spouse Doug) Ruckman, Fort Wayne; Joshua (and spouse Robin) Burgher, Denver, Colo.; Matthew Burgher (and fiancée Julie Johnston), Evansville; and Ryan Burgher, Winona Lake; four great-grandchildren: Naomi and Moses Weaver, Rileigh Ruckman and Olin Burgher; and two sisters, Betty (and spouse Bill) Sheets and June Kassing, both of Fostoria, Ohio.
A graveside service will be at noon Thursday at Graham Cemetery, Wayne, Ohio, with Pastor Tom Everett of Curtice, Ohio, officiating.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
