Effie Jean England Walls O'Connell, 68, of 314 E. Leedy St., Warsaw, died at 3:12 p.m. Dec. 7, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Claypool, to Charlie and Nancy Reffitt England. She was married to Robert L. Walls Sr. from 1960-68. Then she was married to Pete O'Connell from 1970-75.

She worked at Zimmer Inc. from 1976-97, when she retired. She was a nature lover her entire life and she became an avid reader after retiring. Her favorite authors were V.C. Andrews and Stephen King. Living a very simple old-fashioned life, her pleasures were cooking for family, friends and neighbors. Spending time with her granddaughters, son and their wives, family and friends helped her enjoyed her final years of life Always having a pat on the head, a kind greeting and some food for all the "stray" animals that wandered into her yard gave her great pleasure and enjoyment and her "little buddy," her own kitty, Pookie, was truly a joy and blessing to her.

Surviving are two sons, Robert L. Jr. (and spouse Candy) Walls, Syracuse, and Mark M. (and spouse Kerrie) Walls, Winona Lake; two granddaughters, Kayla Renae and Ashley Nicole Walls; a step-grandson, Shane Holloway; a brother, Amos (and spouse P.K.) England, Pierceton; and many nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.. Thursday at the funeral home.
