NORTH MANCHESTER - Edwin L. Metzger, 75, North Manchester, died at 6:38 a.m. May 30, 2008, at Wabash County Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1932, in Wabash County, to Paul and Mildred Custer Metzger. On Feb. 27, 1955 he married Hilda Epp, who survives.

He retired in 1994 from Woodcraft Co. in North Manchester after 36 years. From 1996 to 2002 he was employed at Whetstone Woodenware in Silver Lake. He also worked as a Journal Gazette newspaper carrier. He was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester.

Also surviving are two sons, David Metzger, Laketon and John (and spouse Elaine) Metzger, Pierceton; a daughter, Mary Esther (and spouse Brian) McNabney, Laketon; a sister, Karen (and spouse Virgil) Frantz, North Manchester, four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a borther and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester with Home Brethren officiating. Burial will be at Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.
