ELKHART – Edward S. “Ed” Ganczak, 69, Elkhart, and formerly of Leesburg, passed away March 10, 2016, at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 29, 1946, in Elkhart, to Stanley and Delores Slushnik Ganczak.
He graduated from Elkhart High School. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He retired as a printing handler in 2012 from RR Donnelley in Warsaw with over 17 years of service. His passion was his family and helping anyone in need, He helped all his sons build their homes. His other passion was living on Saw Mill Lake in the Barbee Chain of Lakes, where he enjoying boating and fishing with family and friends.
Surviving are his three sons: Paul (and spouse Nicole) Ganczak, Goshen; Brad (and spouse Amanda) Ganczak, Bristol; Richard (and spouse Nicole) Ganczak, Edwardsburg, Mich; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, including his twin Karen (and spouse David) Foster, Mishawaka, and Connie (and spouse Steve) Foreman, Elkhart; and former wives, Carol (and spouse Mike) Woodworth, Elkhart, and Wanda Layman, Leesburg,
Services celebrating his life will begin at 1 p.m.  Wednesday at Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, with the Rev. Steve Reshan officiating. Immediately following, a procession will leave for a committal service at the Prairie Street Cemetery Veteran Towers with military honors by the U.S. Army Funeral Honor Guard and DAV Chapter 19.
Calling is one hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the funeral home.
