HALSTEAD, Kan. - Edward O. Treesh, 85, died Dec. 21, 2007, in Halstead, Kan., where he resided.

He was born April 25, 1922, in Warsaw, to Floyd Wesley and Iona Faye Phillips Treesh. On Sept. 10, 1953, in Larned, Kan., he married Lorna D. Gore, who died Feb. 10, 1974.

He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp veteran and a member of First Unitarian Church, Wichita, Kan. He was a former volunteer of Halstead Go-Getters 4-H; a former Halstead PTA; former president and treasurer of Hertzler Research Foundation; and former community representative of USD 440.

Surviving are two daughters, Erica Treesh (and spouse Lowell Handy), Des Plains, Ill., and Alicia (and spouse David) Rohrer, Reeds Spring, Mo.; a sister, Mary (and spouse Austin) Hill, Hemphill, Texas; a granddaughter, Ashley (and spouse Joseph) Carlile, Ozark, Mo.; a grandson, Jeremy Rohrer, Reeds Spring; and a great-grandson, Bobbee Carlile, Ozark. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Treesh.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Cremation has taken place.

No calling is planned.
