ROCHESTER – Edward “Ed” A. Waltz, 75, of 807 E. 10th St., Rochester, died at 7:35 a.m. April 24, 2012, in his residence.

He was born May 19, 1936, in South Bend, to Robert B. and Doris Andrews Waltz. On July 12, 1956, in Twelve Mile, he married Leona Jo Corn, who survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-64, serving in Korea and stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and Fort Benning, Georgia.

After retiring from the U.S. Army, he moved to Rochester to work in the family construction business of Waltz Building Service. He also owned Four Seasons Mobile Home Court, and upon selling this he retired and worked part-time at Modular Builders, Rochester.

He was a member of Rochester Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Shriners.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jo Ann (and spouse Jeff) Warner, Rochester; two sons, Edward A. Jr. (and spouse Maria) Waltz, Pierceton, and Robert P. Waltz, Charlotte, N.C.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara (and spouse James) Rock, Rochester. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Jason See officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, with military graveside services by members of Rochester American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to service Friday at the funeral home with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
