Edward E. Springer, 84, Claypool, died at 8:55 a.m. Feb. 3, 2012, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.

He was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Phillip and Josephine Menuch Springer. On May 27, 1950, in Hartford City, he married Patricia Marie DuBois, who survives.

He moved to Eaton, Ind., when he was 16 years old, then to Hartford City upon his marriage to Patricia until 1969, then to Muncie, then moved to Beaver Dam in 1986. He worked for Muncie Chevrolet for 33 years, retiring in 1981, and worked for Farm and Fleet until they closed. He was a 1947 graduate of Eaton High School, a member of Eagles and Sacred Heart Catholic Church and life member of Moose Lodge, all of Warsaw, Beaver Dam Conservation Club, and National Rifle Association.

Also surviving are five sons: Edward A. Springer, Garden City, Mo.; Mark S. Springer, Casa Grande, Ariz.; Thomas P. (and spouse Dianne) Springer, Cedarburg, Wis.; Patrick L. (and spouse Janet) Springer, West Plains, Mo.; David M. (and spouse Annie) Springer, Indianapolis; four grandsons; six granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; a step-great-grandson; two step-great-granddaughters; two brothers-in-law: Bill (and spouse Triva) Dubois and family, Martinsville; Jerry (and spouse Lou) Dubois and family, Tonto Basin, Ariz.; and a half brother-in-law, Larry Dubois, Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Duston Springer, and a half sister, Phyllis Miller.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Father Philip DeVolder, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, officiating. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Garden of Memories, Muncie.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service.

Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
