NAPPANEE – Edna Schwartz, 89, of 10495 W. CR 1350N, Nappanee, died at 4 a.m. Aug. 25, 2011, in her residence, of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Marshall County, to John C. and Susan W. Yoder Chupp. On Jan. 2, 1941, in Nappanee, she married Milo Schwartz, who died Feb. 26, 1989.

She was a homemaker and a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Ruby, Wilma and Nancy Fern Schwartz, all of Nappanee, and Linda Sue (and spouse David H.) Miller, Bremen: five sons, Ervin (and spouse Carol) Schwartz, LaVern (and spouse Carolyn) Schwartz and Earl Ray (and spouse Marietta) Schwartz, all of Nappanee; Allen (and spouse Mary Ellen) Schwartz, Milford; and Jerry Lee (and spouse Betty) Schwartz, Shipshewana; 31 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William (and spouse Mary) Church, Bremen, and Edward (and spouse Alta) Chupp, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by three sisters, a granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, two brothers and seven sisters.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the family residence with Bishop Lonnie Slabaugh and Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church officiating. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.

Calling is after 5 p.m. today and all day Friday at the family residence.

Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is in charge of arrangements.
