NORTH MANCHESTER – Edna Mae Bailey, 86, North Manchester, died at 6:55 a.m. June 7, 2016, in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
She was born March 22, 1930, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Clay and Anna Mae Whitaker Shepherd. On Dec. 15, 1951, she married Amos Bailey, who died Jan. 13, 1986.
She was employed with Warsaw Furniture and later retired in 1978 from Korth Furniture, Warsaw. She was a member of Victory Rock, Pierceton. She loved God and reading God’s word. She loved baking and cooking.
Surviving are a son, Walter (and spouse Sharon) Shepherd Jr., Columbia City; a daughter, Eliese Nonnemacher, Goshen; three sisters: Rose Elliott, Warsaw; Marie Shepherd, Phoenix, Ariz.; Ruth Ann (and spouse Tim) Sharp, North Manchester; six grandchildren: Yvonne King, Tina Rena LaVerne, Stuart Scott, Dan Tiehl, Jayne Anne Moles and Terry Nonnemacher; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leota Howard and Fannie Minnix; and three brothers: Alonzo Shepherd, Steve Shepherd and Lonnie Shepherd.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Victory Rock, Sidney. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, with Pastors Charles Trout and Rick Johnson officiating.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. The family also will receive friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the church.
