MENTONE – Edna M. Kitch, 96, of 305 W. Spring St., Etna Green, died at 6:30 a.m. May 13, 2011, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Elkhart County, to Joseph and Lula Penrose Horn. On July 2, 1932, in South Bend, she married Robert G. Kitch, who died May 9, 1986.
In earlier years, Edna and Bob had owned and operated Bob’s Bakery, Bourbon, and also Shori’s Restaurant, Etna Green. She then worked at the orthopedic company in Bourbon until retirement. She was a member of the Etna Green United Methodist Church and the Warsaw Moose Lodge. She volunteered and attended REAL Services, Bourbon. She loved gardening and dancing.
Surviving are a daughter, Deanna (and spouse Charles) Beeson, Etna Green; a sister, Nancy McIntyre (and friend Bud), South Bend; two brothers, Kenneth and Lee (and spouse Lydia Mae) Horn, all of Mishawaka; four grandchildren: Lisa (and spouse Joe) Duda, Janine (and spouse Michael) Trozzolo, Brian (and friend Tracie) Kitch, and Kelly (and spouse John) Garber; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Gene Kitch; an infant son, Richard Lee Kitch; and two grandchildren, Glen Kitch and Cara Duda.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating. Burial will be in Stoney Point Cemetery, Etna Green.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
