She was born May 23, 1923, in Marshall County, to Omer Otis and Beatrice M. VanPherson Coldren. On July 3, 1947, she married Arthur Russell Tracy, who died Feb. 17, 1976.
She owned and operated Tracy’s Market, North Manchester, and later worked at the deli at Lance’s Market, North Manchester. She was a member of United Methodist Church, North Manchester, and a lifetime member of Women of the Moose and Order of the Eastern Star. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1941. She was a former stock car driver at Warsaw Speedway and Baer Field Raceway and other area racetracks. She was an avid golfer, bowler and I.U. basketball fan.
Surviving are a son, Brett (and spouse Dawn) Tracy, South Whitley; three daughters, Patricia Allen and Debbie Tracy, both of Fort Wayne, and Shelly (and spouse Tracy) Gilliland, Warsaw; five sisters: Beverly J. Coldren, Mentone; Betty (and spouse Rex) Smith, Warsaw; Barbara (and spouse Jim) Stewart, North Manchester; Brenda (and spouse Larry) Landis, Wabash; and Becky Burton, Lafayette; grandchildren: Josh (and spouse Ashley) Fitzgerald; Nathan (and spouse Emily) Fitzgerald; and Jordan (Megan) Allen; nine step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Larry (and spouse Joan) Tracy, Costa Mesa, Calif., and Richard (and spouse Ann) Tracy, North Manchester; and two stepdaughters, Carol (and spouse Fred) Haw, Chicago, Ill., and Linda (and spouse Duane) Werking, North Manchester. She was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, William and Keith Coldren; a sister, Carol Paul; and a grandchild, Tracy Lynn Allen.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastors Kevin DeKoninck and Larry Ray officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
