Edith D. Newby, 85, Indianapolis and formerly of Warsaw, passed away at 7:41 p.m. March 29, 2016, in Hooverwood, the Indianapolis Jewish Home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 9, 1931, in Warsaw, to Donald and Violet Boon Lynch. She was united in marriage to Raymond Newby in 1960 in Warsaw. He preceded her in death in 1970.
She was a lifetime resident of Warsaw. She retired from Zimmer Inc. in 1997 after 19 years of service.  She also was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna (and spouse Rodney) Jordan and Melody (and spouse Thomas) Sands, all of Indianapolis, and Pam (and spouse Mark) Hartman, Lafayette; three stepdaughters, Bev Hay and Carol (and spouse Ron) Wood, all of Warsaw, and Phyllis (and spouse Dennis) Rash, Bluffton; nine grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura L. Newby; her sister, Nancy Sue Johnson; her stepson, Larry Joe Newby; and her brother, Donald Lynch.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Homecare and Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel.
