MENTONE - Edgar E. Wright, 57, of 5908 Redbird Lane, Palestine, died at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11, 2010, in his residence after a battle with cancer.

He was born July 21, 1953, in Martin, Ky., to Bill "Buck" and Darcus Barnett Wright. He was married in South Dakota to Debra Sitting Up Wright and she resides in Arizona.

He retired after more than 30 years of service to his country serving in the U.S. Air Force, Army, Civil Service, as well as the National Guard.

Also surviving are two sons, George Edward Wright, Phoenix, Ariz., and William Buck Wright, Palestine; three brothers: Mike (and spouse Rhonda) Wright, Burket; Kevin Wright (and Cari Woodall), Palestine; and Steve (and spouse Jackie) Wright, Warsaw; four sisters: Vannessa (and spouse Steve) Allen, Florence, Ky.; Karen (and spouse Bart) Aker, Richmond, Va.; Daisy Barnett, Martin, Ky.; and Myrtle Johnson, Indianapolis; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Nova Jean Wright; three brothers, Darrell, Edgar and Eugene Wright; and four sisters, Lura Hubbard, Hazel Campbell, Edna Bradley and Mae Johnson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery with military honors by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
