George and Thelma Eberly celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a gathering at the home of their son, Steve and Kathy Eberly, South Whitley.
They were married June 23, 1945, at the Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, with the Rev. Hugh N. Bonald officiating.
He is a retired farmer and bus driver for Larwill and Whitko schools. They were both members of the Larwill Lions Club. She was a member of the Double Dozen Extension Club. They have resided in Warsaw since retiring 26 years ago from farming in Richland Township.
The couple have six children: Anne (and spouse Terry) Walker, and Judy (and spouse Larry) Sechrist, all of Larwill; Linda (and spouse Robert) Jeffries, Steve (and spouse Kathy) Eberly and Deb (and spouse Kevin) Shoemaker, all of South Whitley; and Jill Eberly, Warsaw. They have 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Get To Know The Team: Warsaw Captains Q&A
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of going to a Warsaw football practice and speaking with four of the team’s five captains.
