Gene and Debbie Eaton, Highlands Ranch, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Krista, to B.J. Simpson, son of Jim and Marla Simpson, Milford.

The bride-to-be is a 2000 graduate of Highlands Ranch High School and received her bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2004 from Mesa State College, Grand Junction, Colo.

The groom-elect is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, Syracuse. He is a 2002 graduate of Wawasee High School and received his bachelor's degree in GIS and meteorology from Ball State University in 2006.

The couple plan a May wedding.

Kathleen N. Anderson-Takacs, 84, of Pierceton, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. Kathy was born on Aug. 14, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Darwin and Jane Gibson. On April 17, 2004, she married Bill Takacs in Gatlinburg, Tenn., who survives.
