NORTH MANCHESTER – Earl W. “Wild Bill” Iholtz, 81, of North Manchester, died at 1:48 p.m. April 24, 2011, in Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 13, 1930, in rural North Manchester, to Hickman William and Nancy Haley Iholtz. On Dec. 31, 1953, he married Peggy L. Parker, who survives.
He was owner and operator of Bill’s Body Shop & Towing Service since 1961, retiring  in 2009. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1949-53.  He was a member of Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, where he served as a deacon for several years. He attended Sidney High School and was a member of River City Choir, South Whitley.
Surviving are a son, Michael William (and spouse Susan) Iholtz, South Whitley; two daughters, Gloria Jean (and spouse Gene) Gottschalk, South Whitley,  and Barbara Ann (and spouse Frank) Edwards, Wabash; three sisters, Helen Jones, Zanesville, and Peggy (and spouse Wayne) Turner and Mae Howard, all of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Congregational Christian Church, 310 N. Walnut St., North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Swank Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 14W, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
