He was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Warsaw Township, Minn. On Nov. 12, 1955, he married Delores, who preceded him.
He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He was a radio broadcaster for many years in Warsaw, later working in advertising for the Times-Union and The Paper until retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and grand-dogs, hunting, target shooting, driving cars, photography, and was an avid card player.
Surviving are a son, Keith Pagel, Fort Wayne; two daughters, Kim Pagel, Baton Rouge, La., and Karen (and spouse Robert “Bob”) Womack, Cheyenne, Wyo.; two sisters: Joann Bryan and Sharyl Shanen-Raya, both of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was also preceded by his parents and two brothers.
A viewing with prayer and remembrance was held in Cheyenne, Wyo., Thursday followed by cremation. The family has planned a burial in the spring at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oakdale, La.
