Dr. Jerry R. Landwerlen, 73, Mentone, died at 7:58 p.m. Jan. 22, 2016.
He was born June 29, 1942, in Shelbyville, to Russell “Dutch” and Roberta “Rae” Tucker Landwerlen. On Aug. 17, 1963, in Shelby County, he married Susan Scott, who survives in Mentone.
He was a dentist in Silver Lake, where he retired. He also had offices in previous years in St. Paul, Wabash, Montpelier and for the veterans administration in Marion. He also was a dairy farmer for nearly 20 years.
He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in 1960. He went on to Indiana University for his dentistry education, graduating in 1967. He enjoyed woodworking and also made mannequin heads that he sold. He was an animal lover of all kinds.
Also surviving are four sons: Thad (and spouse Melissa) Landwerlen, Holly, Mich.; Thane (and spouse Melissa) Landwerlen, and Ty Landwerlen, all of Warsaw; and Taber Landwerlen, Indianapolis; five grandchildren: Hannah, Taren, Graham, Tevin and Avery; and two sisters, Nancy Everhart, Brazil, Ind., and Marilyn (and spouse Greg) Graham, Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell “Dutch” and Roberta “Rae” Landwerlen.
There will be no services held at this time.
