MILFORD - Douglas "Doug" L. Rensberger, 81, of Milford, died at 3:06 p.m. Aug. 23, 2009, in Goshen General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Nappanee, to Ward Dwight and Melba Lucille Rice Rensberger.

A lifetime Milford resident, he retired from NIPSCO and was a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 418, Milford, and attended Bethel Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed playing golf and liked traveling, going to Florida every winter. He could be found every morning having coffee with the guys at the diner at Ind. 6 and 15. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh.

Surviving are three sisters: Josephine (and spouse Paul) Becker, North Webster; Mary Ann Holland, Louisville, Ill.; and Dorothy Amos, Indianapolis; a brother-in-law, Bob Emmons, Milford; and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathryn Emmons.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford, with the Rev. Tim Sollenberger Morphew officiating. Burial will be in Bremen Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
