She was born March 15, 1918, in Double Spring, Tenn., to Marvin Rosco and Edna Pearl Smith Hudson. On Aug. 15, 1936, she married Samuel T. Bush, who died Jan. 3, 1964. On Dec. 25, 1970, she married Raymond Hawkins, who died Oct. 7, 1987.
Moving to Warsaw from Tennessee in 1951, she worked at Warsaw Coil for 21 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Church of Christ, Warsaw. She loved to sew (sock monkeys, Barbie doll clothes, stuffed bunnies to name a few) making her own patterns out of newspaper, quilt and make other craft items (pot holders, etc.). She treated everyone equally the same with kindness. She was well grounded, was a good provider for her children and doted over her “perfect” grandchildren. She was a vegetable and flower gardener and made delicious chocolate pies.
Surviving are two daughters, Anna (and spouse James) McConnell and Sammy Lynn (and spouse Gary) Warrick, all of Leesburg; a stepson, Don (and spouse Carol) Hawkins, Crown Point; two granddaughters, Chris Leiter, Warsaw, and Cassandra (and spouse Ben) Solero, Wake Forrest, N.C.; two grandsons, Jaime (and spouse Veronica) Neuhaus, Germany, and Richard (and spouse Jackie) Neuhaus, Farmington Hills, Mich.; eight step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Hugh and Howard Hudson; a stepson, Lloyd Hawkins; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Becky Hawkins.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Jack Worth of Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
