NORTH MANCHESTER - Dorothy M. Gray, 83, of North Manchester, died at 8:45 a.m. Dec. 14, 2009, in her residence.

She was born April 30, 1926, in Roann, to Elmer W. and Elsie L. Martin Steele. On April 30, 1944, she married Harry B. Gray, who died Nov. 14, 1959.

She retired from Dollar General Warehouse, Scottsville, Ky., in 1993. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester, and attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Wabash. She was a member of American Legion Post 323, St. Marys, Ohio, and active with Senior Citizens Club, Wabash.

Surviving are two stepsons, Tom Ashford, Sidney, Ohio, and Dan Ashford, Glasgow, Ky.; four brothers: Raymond (and spouse Marcia) Steele, Wabash; Joseph Harley (and spouse Lou) Steele, North Liberty; and William (and spouse Rebekah) Steele and Richard (and spouse Diana) Steele, all of North Manchester; a sister, Betty (and spouse Lawrence) Bonewitz, North Manchester; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and two sisters.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Kerri McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
