Dorothy L. Starner, 88, of Claypool, passed away at 11:20 a.m. April 11, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Adams County, to Edward and Hilda Berron Becher. On Nov. 23, 1941, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw, she married Robert “Bud” Starner, who died April 11, 1996.

She worked in the office and as a lineworker at Lasuer Industries, Claypool, for 23 years, retiring in 1986. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially planting flowers and gardening. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen.

Surviving are three daughters, Joyce (and spouse Larry) Evans, Janet Starner and Jean Seiffert, all of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Angela (and spouse Joe) Hughes, Debbie Evans and Carrie (and spouse Ed) Moniak; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Limerick, South Bend. She also was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Robert K. Seiffert, who died Jan. 16, 2010; two brothers, Murlin Becher, who died Dec. 22, 2002, and Lavern Becher; and a sister, Mary Freehauf.

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen, officiated by Pastor Neil Wonnacott of the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Bremen.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
