MENTONE - Dorothy E. Cumberland, 82, of 1888 S. Woodfield Trail, Warsaw, died at 12:49 p.m. March 17, 2009, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born March 28, 1926, in Fulton County, to the Rev. Clyde R. and Edith Moon Walters. On Nov. 3, 1946, in Van Wert, Ohio, she married George Richard Cumberland, who died March 21, 2005.

She worked at United Telephone and retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons, where she worked in the data processing department. She graduated from Van Wert High School and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and wintering in Bradenton, Fla., with her husband.

Surviving are two daughters, Diane K. Cumberland, Houston, Texas, and Brenda Deardorff, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Kristin (and spouse Tyson) Silveus, Freeland, Mich.; Kelly (and spouse Don) Michell, Fort Wayne; and Derrick Deardorff, West Lafayette; and six great-grandchildren, Caden and Megan Silveus and Weber, Chloe, Laney and Emma Michell. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Shore.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with the Rev. Andy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
