Dorothy "Dottie" Jean Sponseller, 79, of Winona Lake, died at 5:34 a.m. March 30, 2010, in Pierceton.

She was born Dec. 11, 1930, in Pierceton, to Walter L. and Ruby Pauline Phillips Wagner. On Dec. 24, 1948, in North Webster, she married Carl R. Sponseller, who died Jan. 18, 1996.

She worked in office administration and fund raising for the Fraternal Order of Police for 30 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of Baptist Church, Pierceton; the Draft Horse Association of Kosciusko; and Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary 49.

Surviving are three daughters: Connie (and spouse James) Panell, Gallatin, Tenn.; Joyce (and spouse Edward) Wiley, Winona Lake; and Debbie Sponseller (and J.R. Hoagland), Warsaw; a son, Steve (and spouse Chris) Sponseller, Leesburg; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Earl and infant Jimmie Lee Wagner; and a half sister, Patty Robinson, who died March 8, 2006.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Tom Craig of Silver Creek Church of God, Silver Lake. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
