COLUMBIA CITY – Doris A. Ivy, 63, South Whitley, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 24, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 17, 1950, in Fort Wayne, to Walter M. and Hilda C. Witte Bruner. On Nov. 4, 1972, she married Edward “Coop” Ivy Sr., who survives.
She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1968. She first worked at Chamberlain Products in South Whitley from 1968 until 1975. From 1975 until 1985 she worked at Starlite and retired from Larwill Products in 2009. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in rural Columbia City. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she was an avid softball player and coached for many years.
Also surviving are a daughter, Clara Myers, South Whitley; son, Edward “Cooper” (and spouse Misty) Ivy Jr., Columbia City; twin sister, Delores “Dee” Gaylord, Warsaw; three brothers: Robert (and spouse Janice) Bruner, Mississippi, James (and spouse Sue) Bruner, Liberty Mills; and Melvin Bruner, Pierceton; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Albert.
 Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, with the Rev. David Mommens officiating. Burial is in South Park (Annex) Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
