Don't Blame God

In response to Jim Morris' letter Jan. 23.

I will never forget the tragedies of 9-11. This act of terror shook the very fibers of our nation. People came together in prayer for our country and for the lives that were injured and lost. What happened? Did we become impassible from all harm, and when we fail we blame God?

I agree that the world we live in isn't always fair, but it does not stop me from believing in my creator. It is up to us, as you said. "If we endure our suffering with trust in the Lord we will stop Satan's efforts and we will glorify God."

We are not insuperable and, no, we cannot escape the laws that govern God's universe. We cannot bowdlerize the word of God just for our own satiety. How many of us actually stop to thank God for our trials and disappointments in life? The Bible tells us to thank Him in the good and the bad and to pray and repent daily without ceasing. And as for Heaven and Hell, to most of the human race "The Promise Land" is merely a chimerical bromide. To the Christian believers, it's the empyrean of our faith. He is just that, it does not need an explanation.

Just remember for those of you who are in doubt, God orders the steps of a righteous man. but he has also laid the stepping stones to pave the way at the greatest cost of His son to a pyrrhic victory. All you have to do is follow them. Start praying and quit blaming God.
