Re: Matt Perry

Even if Mr Bradley was buying into what he is being spoonfed, we are all guilty, including you. If what you say is true, whether you watch CNN or Fox News, one of us is being spoonfed the truth, and the other, lies. I prefer to form my own opinions by looking at the facts instead of letting the media or what celebrities tell me what to think based on their opinions or interpretations. I have a friend that always asks me who they should vote for when it comes election time. I always tell them to do research and figure it out themselves or don't vote. I do this because I don't want someone to just be a follower. Maybe we should add another amendment to the Constitution called "freedom of forming your own opinions by researching the facts yourself" or "freedom of not being a follower."

Now, as far as feeding and clothing others. Disclaimer: The following is not an attempt to boast of what we do, but an attempt to show examples of what all of us can do. Nor is it an attempt to say that you don't already do these things, Mr. Perry.

My wife and I try to make it to the "Walk a Mile In My Shoes" event that is held in Muncie, Ind., every year (we both went to Ball State, so Muncie is kind of a second home). They hold this event and you collect donations that help the homeless shelter there. Then we have the awesome opportunity of walking a mile in below-freezing weather as part of the event (to simulate for a much shorter period of time what homeless people endure). We also try and clean out our closet every so often and take a few bags of clothing to Our Father's House or CCS, or help a friend or neighbor in need with what God has blessed us with, whether financially or physically.

Sure, we can just sit back and expect our government to take care of all this for us, but not without expecting paying for it out of our own pocketbooks (taxes). If more Americans would step up and try to defeat the hunger and homelessness ourselves, it would probably cost less and you would probably miss the money less.

Last, but not least, other countries don't dislike us solely because of our president. Believe it or not, they also dislike us because of the anti-American propaganda that their communist leaders and dictators feed to them.

If only I had a newspaper column and the time to write for it.
