COLUMBIA CITY – Donnis Irene Hasty, 89, formerly of Columbia City, passed away Sept. 29, 2012, in Shepherd of the Valley Care Center,   Casper, Wyo.

She was born Aug. 30, 1923, in Burket, to Hobart and Mildred Tucker Holloway. On Dec. 25, 1942, in Fort Wayne, she married H. Carlton Hasty, who preceded her in death.

Raised in Burket, she graduated from Akron High School in 1942. After marriage, she and her husband moved to Jefferson Township, Whitley County. They purchased a lake home in Thorncreek Township and later made it their year round home until 1993, when they moved to a home north of Columbia City. A former Blue Bell and Fortmeyers Truck Stop employee, she retired from Economy Machine Shop in 1985. She was a longtime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge  1906 Auxiliary, Columbia City.

Surviving are a daughter, Connie Louise Long, Grant, Ala.; two granddaughters, Amy Jo (and spouse Randal G.) Butler, Pueblo, Colo., and Buffy (and spouse Jeff) Neumann, Grant, Ala.; two great-grandchildren, Randi Christine (and Anna) Butler of Pueblo, and Pvt. 1st Class Lincoln Thomas Sherman Butler, Fort Lee, Va.; a sister, Maxine (and spouse Brandy) Brandt, New Buffalo, Mich; a niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, H. Carlton Hasty, sister, Mary Belle Ferrell and brother, Harold Holloway.

A graveside service was at 4 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Chapel (Sand Bank) Cemetery with Sharon Brockhaus, certified funeral celebrant, officiating.

DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia Ciyt, was in charge of arrangements.
