She was born March 17, 1936, in Elkhart, to Harold Dean and Goldie Elizabeth Mellott Mock. On April 18, 1954, in Decatur, she married Douglas T. “Doug” Jernigan, who preceded her in death in 2004.
She moved to the Syracuse area in the 1940s and attended Syracuse High School. She retired in 1996 from Dekko Engineering, North Webster, after many years and formerly worked at Webster Products. She attended the Church of God, North Webster, and was formerly a member of the North Webster American Legion Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Elaine (and spouse Mike) Cook; two sons, Thomas (and spouse Andi) and Larry Jernigan, all of Syracuse; three grandchildren: Jennifer (and spouse Jason) Webster, Leesburg; Ryan (and spouse Cari) Twait, Lexington, Ky.; Nathan Cook, Milford; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside services will be at Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery at a later date. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
