She was born July 15, 1930, in Michigan City, to Karl and Lena Mae Wurm Brinckman. On March 6, 1949, she married Clarence Ray Werstler, who passed away in 2005.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1946 where she was a member of Pierceton Presbyterian Church, Pierceton. She served her church over the years in many capacities as a church deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed plants and playing cards, and was past president of the Pierceton Senior Citizens Center. She had worked for many years as the office manager of Pletcher’s Grocery Store, Pierceton, and in later years she worked at Quality Farm and Fleet, Warsaw.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Rex (and spouse Carol) Werstler, Leesburg, and Tim (and spouse Sue) Werstler, Pierceton; a daughter, Vicki (and spouse John) Camden, Pierceton; a daughter-in-law, Donna Werstler, Larwill; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Wanda Black, Florida, and Norma Faulstich and Carol Allen, both of LaPorte. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Ray Werstler, who died April 16, 2014; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Conelley officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
